I make it differently every year. I know everyone has their own recipe, and they probably think their recipe is better. They are probably right.
I always (nearly always) add bourbon. And I’m sold on making pie crust with vodka.
And, no, I don’t normally inflict mince meat pie on my guests. But it was only right to do so in 2014 because it was my 70th birthday party. One person actually ate it, besides me.
