Spritz Cookies

1 cup butter

½ cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1 egg

¼ tsp salt

2 tsp baking powder

4 cups Flour

¼ cup milk

2 tsp almond extract

Preheat oven to 400°.

Mix flour, salt and baking powder together and set aside. Cream the butter, shortening and sugar together 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add egg and almond extract. Add flour mixture and milk starting with milk. Mix well.

Press cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 5-7 minutes or until lightly brown.

May decorate with colored sugar before baking or frost and decorate after baking.

Makes approximately 8 dozen cookies.
