위 단어들은 some food / few books 처럼 명사와 함께 사용할 수 있습니다:
All cars have wheels.
I don't go out very often. I stay home most days.
Some cars can go faster than others.
Many people drive too fast.
(교통 표지판에) NO CARS (= no cars allowed)
이 단어들은 "all of cars" 또는 "most of people" 형식으로는 표현할 수 없습니다:
Some people are very unfriendly. (not some of people)
most는 관사를 취하지 않으므로 사용에 주의해야 합니다(not the most):
Most tourists don't visit this part of town. (not the most tourists)
2. some of / most of / none of
some of ... / most of ... / none of ... 등은 of와 함께 사용할 수 있습니다. "some of / most of / none of + the/this/that/these/those/my" 형식으로 표현할 수 있습니다:
Some of the people I work with are very friendly.
None of this money is mine.
Have you read any of these books?
I was sick yesterday. I spent most of the day in bed.
all이나 half 뒤에는 of가 필요 없습니다:
All my friends live in Los Angeles. or All of my friends ...
Half this money is mine. or Half of this money ...

"all of / some of / none of 등 + it/us/you/them" 형식으로 표현할 수 있습니다:

all 또는 half 뒤에 it/us/you/them이 오게 되면 반드시 of 를 사용해야 합니다:
