Ann might call tonight. I don't want to go out in case she calls. (= because it is possible she will call)
I'll draw a map for you in case you can't find our house. (= because it is possible you won't be able to find it)
작은 가능성은 just in case로 표현합니다:
I don't think it will rain, but I'll take an umbrella just in case. (= just in case it rains)
in case 뒤에는 will을 사용하지 않습니다. 미래에 대한 의미로 현재 시제를 사용합니다. (see unit 24):
I don't want to go out tonight in case Ann calls. (not in case Ann will call)
in case는 if와 다릅니다. In case는 어떤 사람이 왜 그랬는지를 말하기 위해 사용합니다. If와 비교해 보세요:

We'll buy some more food in case Tom comes. (= Perhaps Tom will come; we'll buy some more food now, whether he comes or not; then we'll already have the food if he comes.)
I'll give you my phone number in case you need to contact me.
if
We'll some more food if Tom comes. (= Perhaps Tom will come; if he comes, we'll buy some more food; if he dosen't come, we won't buy any more food.)
You can call me at the hotel if you need to contact me.
어떤 사람이 왜 그랬었는지 상황이나 이유를 설명하기 위하여 "in case + 과거"를 사용합니다:
We bought some more food in case Tom came. (= because it was possible that Tom would come)
I drew a map for Sarah in case she couldn't find the house.
We rang the bell again in case they hadn't heard it the first time.
in case of는 in case와 다릅니다:
In case of fire, please leave the building quickly as possible. (= if there is a fire)
In case of emergency, telephone this number. (= if there ia an emergency)
