Perspectives on White and Black Racism

A recurring error that happens to a lot of black people is that of seeing white people as universally racist, or universally their enemies. This actualizes in nastiness to the very kind of people who have goodwill to black people, while doing nothing to those white people who actually hate the black race.

The people who come at the receiving end of these attacks tend to be white people who wish the black people well and want to see them succeed. It is the white liberals in the cities - the same people who supported civil rights and voted for Barack Obama. And the nastier the black people are to the white people who wish them well, the stronger grows the case for white people who are racists for real.

I am as much against racism as are most black people; yet even I got accused of racism and bigotry. This is irresponsible behavior. There are white people who hate black people, and there are white people who don't hate black people. It is important to recognize reality: That there are white people; that there will always be white people; and that it is necessary to work with those white people who are not against black people to counteract the influence of those white people who are.

Nobody chooses their race; but they do choose what to do about it. A black person who's randomly attacking white people who have done nothing to him is simply being a jerk. Those people have done nothing bad to him and generally wish him well. If you want to confront real racists, then confront skinheads or white supremacists and leave the city liberals alone.

Of course, confronting skinheads or white supremacists is harder and more dangerous than attacking the city liberals; and therein lies the challenge. If you are really the tough and strong person that you think yourself to be, then this is a task demanding of strength and toughness. This means that there is much greater merit in confronting these thugs than there is in attacking white people who wish you well; and fighting these thugs is far more respectable.

As in many other situations, this requires things being put into perspective. Not all white people are the same. There are white people who support black people, and there are white people who hate black people. And a rational black person would work with those white people who support black people to counteract those white people who hate black people and to improve the life for black people all across the board.
