Post -Doc at CBA

Postdoctoral Fellowship at

Cognitive Behavioral Associates, LLP, in Great Neck,

New York

Jill Rathus, PhD and Ruth DeRosa, PhD, Directors

Cognitive Behavioral Associates (CBA) is currently looking to hire a postdoctoral fellow to join its team of psychologists specializing in CBT and DBT. The founders and directors of CBA, Dr. Jill Rathus and Dr. Ruth DeRosa, have clinical expertise and multiple publications in a number of areas including CBT, DBT and traumatic stress; please see www.cbtreatment.com for more information. CBA is dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based treatments while providing a stimulating, enriching, and supportive training environment.

The CBA fellow will receive training and supervision in both DBT and CBT modalities. The DBT portion will include participating on our weekly consultation team, co-leading both adolescent multi-family and adult skills training groups, conducting individual therapy, and providing family or parenting sessions. The CBT portion will involve treating adults, couples, adolescents, and children, and will include cases with anxiety and mood disorders, relationship problems, parenting challenges, and others. Multiple hours of supervision are incorporated into the work week in both individual and group modalities. Our weekly DBT consultation team provides the opportunity to collaborate with five licensed psychologists as well as advanced doctoral students with specialized training in DBT. The training will also include assessment experience and didactic seminars on a variety of topics. We offer a flexible schedule, the opportunity to be involved in the supervision of externs if interested, as well as opportunities to pursue or develop additional areas of interest. Full time two-year fellowship available with opportunity to apply for staff position after completion. Will consider applicants interested in a part-time schedule.

Our brand new suite (as of Spring, 2014) is located in the lovely village of Great Neck, Long Island – right in town and steps from the Long Island Railroad Station (Port Washington Line, Great Neck Station), just 30 minutes outside of New York City.

Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD from an APA-accredited program and must have completed an APA-approved internship. Prior DBT experience is highly preferable. Previous training in evidence-based treatments/CBT is essential; experience treating adolescents with a cognitive-behavioral approach a plus. Interested applicants should submit cover letter detailing relevant experience and training, CV, and three letters of recommendation to Dr. Ruth DeRosa at rrd@bascom.com. Please be sure to specify Postdoc position in cover letter. Feel free to call with questions, at 516-858-4328. We will begin reviewing applications immediately and application deadline is Feb 10, 2014.
