My Favourite Stories and Media

For as long as I can remember I've escaped into stories. In my early days it was books and TV. I became obsessed with the British Sci-Fi show "Doctor Who" when I was only four years of age. I remember my parents and teachers discussing this obsession and how it would wear off. Well, I'm 51 as I write this and it still hasn't worn off. When I was aged 8, I became obsessed with Star Wars. I'm nowhere near as obsessed with that now but I still love it.

From about the age of 13, I got into movies and started making lists of things that I wanted to see. Video had just arrived and I was always at the video store taking their brochures and making decoupage pictures of my favourite covers. Of course, I was doing that for years before we got a video player and even when we did get one, I never had the money to go out and buy my own films. Eventually when I got older, I amassed a collection of about 300 VHS videos. They're all gone now. I've moved to DVD and Blu-Ray and Digital. Today I have about 8,000 films. of which I've probably only gotten around to watching half.

In recent years, as I've made the transition from paper to e-Books, which I now (finally) prefer, I've gotten into Audio Books and also Graphic novels.
