Who is Gavin Bollard?
Born in Australia in the late 1960's I've been a lot of things in my life. I'm a keen writer and I've always harboured a desire to write fiction but somehow life keeps pushing me off into non-fiction areas. I'm an urban walker and I love to get about in the city and look at how it's changing, the cultural differences and its rich history. I've always had talents in computing even since my first 16 kb micro with cassette tape storage and I rarely fail to find amusement even in the darkest of times. I'm an optimist of the highest level and I firmly believe that given the opportunity, most people will try to do good.
I've got a keen interest in film and have spread my wings to take in films from around the world. I feel that they tell us a lot more about people than we could find out otherwise. I love to travel and I'm the kind of person who will always leave a review... and I'll try to make it positive if I can.
At age four, I got into the British Sci-Fi series, Doctor Who. It's certainly changed my life (for a start it gave me terrible arachnophobia which took years to shake). Around 2004, I discovered that my son had Asperger's syndrome, and shortly after that I did too. I've spent a lot of time coming to grips with it and with how it affects my life, my interests and my engagements with others. I've dedicated a lot of time towards helping others on the spectrum and those who care for them, to reach a better understanding. I've always had a bit of a thing for psychology and I seem to spend quite a bit of time counselling others. I hope it helps.
This site started off many years ago as an experiment to see what Google sites was about but these days, it's an attempt to pull my diverse interests together under the one banner. Enjoy.
