What do you get when you combine Steven Spielberg, and a game console featuring motion control? Boom Blox! This game is only available on the Nintendo Wii.

This is the kind of game that could only be good on the Nintendo Wii. This game has you moving, shooting, and destroying Jenga-like blocks. It’s looks childish at first, and to be truthful, it is, but you won’t care. This game is a blast to play. Even if you don’t like it, it just kind of sucks you in. There are multiple modes, like MOVE, which you carefully move point blocks out of a tower, with a negative point block way up top. You lose if that block falls. It’s a lot like Jenga, and with its superb controls, you’ll like it a lot more! SHOOT is exactly what it sounds like. Shoot point blocks and avoid negative point blocks. THROW has you throwing a ball of some kind, with the objective to knock point blocks to the floor. Thanks to the game’s great physics, the best part is watching the Newton’s law in effect. (For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction) There are many different balls to use. The default is the baseball, but you can get bowling balls, rubber balls, even bombs! There are many blocks too, like bomb blocks (blocks that go BOOM!), gem blocks (block that shatter into piece upon contact with the ground), and chemical blocks (blocks that explode if in contact of another chemical block). There are also many guns, like the fire hose (it counts as a gun!), laser guns, and six-shooter. In COLLECT, you hit gem blocks to the ground. How hard are all these challenges? Easy at first, but will get very challenging later on. There is a story mode, but it makes little sense and lacks depth (really, how could it?) The best part about this game is the fun co-op and versus. There are many different challenges for team players, and many for rival players. There’s a little something for everyone. If the over 300 challenges don’t suit you, make your own! The level editor is fun, and easy! Make an explosive pirate ship, a castle ruled by block monkeys, or just make everything you have go boom. After that, share is with friends via Wii e-mail.

This is one of those games you play because it’s pure fun. There’s no well-known characters, no good story, no blood or gore, no fast-paced action, just blocks. You’ll surely be surprised at how fun it is.
