18 Tuesday Group paddlers enjoyed the sunny day as we met at the Denbeigh Boat Ramp. Marti, Phyllis, Margaret P., Jane & John , John G., Jean & Mark , Bob M., Dottie, Bob Sm., Ken, John F., Bill B., Sandra, Jea and Ron & Sue took to the water to explore the upper Warwick River. John F. demonstrated his kayak off loading and transport system. We all gathered to introduce ourselves to Angie, who had driven over to see us off. The river is bordered on one side by homes and the other by the woods of Ft. Eustis. A few tucked into small side creeks. One group checked out a “drawbridge dock” but found the low tide made it a muddy excursion around the “island”. We agreed to paddle about 1 and ½ hours upstream then return to load our boats and go to Angie’s for lunch and ice cream. Angie’s home overlooks the river and everyone enjoyed the lovely setting. She showed us her butterfly hatchery and garden. Thanks for hosting us and the yummy cookies to go with the ice cream. Another pleasant paddle with good friends for the Tuesday Group.
