So …the forecast was 20% chance of rain decreasing by noon. By the time 16 dedicated hikers met at First Landing State Park, the forecast had changed to 70%! Did that stop us from our goal of hiking the beach and trails? Of course not!! Out came the raingear, complete with a few umbrellas and off we went. Ellis led us onto the beach and up to Ft. Story then back. We crossed Shore Dr. and hiked past the cabins to the new nature facility then down to the Osmanthus Trail and back. As we hiked, the Tues. Group luck held out and the skies cleared, the temps rose and the sun came out. After about 3 hours of hiking and a total of 6 miles, we returned to the cars. Everyone headed to C.B. Shuckers for lunch. What better way to spend a “rainy day” then being outside with good friends and fellowship.
