Capital Bike Trail Ride and Swim at Chickahominy Riverfront Park
Temperatures in the high 90's, 22 determined riders, ~24 miles, $.35 ice cream sandwiches, really refreshing pool all equals another great Tuesday Group Day!
The Tuesday Group met at Chickahominy Riverfront Park today to ride the Capital Bike Trail to Historic Jamestown Visitor Center, around Jamestown Island then back to Chickahominy Riverfront Park. It was a beautiful day. We welcomed back several old friends who had not been able to join us for awhile and met some new friends. We took time to stop periodically and stay hydrated then enjoyed a picnic lunch at the park upon our return. About half of us stayed to swim. In keeping with the Tues.Group tradition we even had ice cream at the pool.

CAPITAL BIKE TRAIL RIDE AND SWIM We will meet at 9:30 AM at Chickahominy Riverfront Park,1350 John Tyler Hwy., Williamsburg VA where we can park our cars free. We will ride the Capital Bike Trail to Jamestown Settlement Visitor Center. After a rest stop/snacks we will then return to Chickahominy Riverfront Park. Total miles 16. WE WILL EAT LUNCH AT CHICKAHOMINY PARK AFTER WE FINISH THE BIKE RIDE SO YOU CAN PACK A COOLER AND LEAVE IT IN YOUR CAR. There is an option to swim at the park after we finish the bike ride. The fee for the pool is: Resident of James City County - $3 Adult or $2 Senior (age 55+) or Nonresidents- $5 Adult or $4 Senior (age 55+).Driver's Licence ID required. Pool hours are 11 AM -8 PM. Restrooms, outdoor showers and ice cream at the swimming pool. Sodas, water and tea at park store. Bring: Bike, helmet, water, snacks, LUNCH TO LEAVE IN CAR, swimwear, sunscreen. PLEASE PARK in parking lot at far end of swimming pool, just past the playground area.
