The Body Kit Hype of the 2000's era!
During the early 2000s, the tuning scene experienced a noticeable transformation, marked by the rise of body kits that allowed enthusiasts to personalize their vehicles. A popular one for the Mx-6 is the VIS Invader body kit, which was popularized through various retailers, including Andy Autosport. I purchased mine in 2005. Although the complete kit featured numerous components, I only used the side skirts and rear pieces, This particular kit wasn't just called the Invader. It was rebranded under different names, such as the Shot Gun Kit, reflecting its widespread availability and various interpretations in the market. The body kit craze of this era has left an indelible mark on the culture of car modification, encapsulating the spirit of creativity and individuality that defined early 2000s tuner cars.
Example of other website call it different kit names, but this is one of the most aggressive front bumpers.
Best ad's ever!
I cut out the slots on the side skirts using a rotary tool.
A lot going on here. The side skirts and rear pieces are fiber glass. The front and rear bumpers are plastic, and the body is metal... so I had a lot of different compounds to use. From plastic bumper repair filament to body filler. Most of the body kit was pop riveted.
Light blue = body filler
Gray = bumper repair filament
Green = etching primer
