In my coding class, we experimented with the idea of Arduino's, but discovered a simple circuit works best.
These are similar to the first brackets I found.
For your safety
mounting the M5 coupling nuts on the original studs
The Hinges are a little to big for this project, but they have 2 points of adjustment and a large angle.
Drilling all 4 mounting points for the hinges
I fastened the connector/coupling nut to the dash cover studs, followed by the M5 socket cap screws.
I drilled a few unnecessary holes.
Thanks to this retired robot, I found the perfect "No Cutting Required" brackets!
Drilling two mounting holes
I originally plan on mounting the small flat side to the air bag cover. but It did not open at the best angle this way.
At first, the lift actuator rubbed the nut, I needed to trim down the end of the actuator.

This video is on my custom Air Bag Gauge Modification for the passenger side air bag. I always have been wanting to do a some come air bag delete with style, and in this video I do so. It has been a fun project, and the cost for the general functionality setup was under $85. If you include all of the electronics that I used, you are looking at around $450 to $500.
