Thank you to our wonderful families for making our first VIP Day of the year a success! It was great to see the smiles on our students' faces as they showed their loved ones around school and enjoyed breakfast and coloring together. It was also great to have so many families join us for mass.
Please remember that our Catholic Schools Walk is tomorrow morning at 9:45AM at Siena Center. We would love to have as many St. Sebastian STEM Academy families as possible show up to represent our school! It is looking like it will be a beautiful morning. Thank you to our generous donors as well! We have already raised over $2,000 for our school! Just a reminder that the class with the highest percentage of participation in fundraising and at the walk will receive a special treat.

Our student of the week this week is Karoline from our 4K classroom! She is a kind friend and always uses her manners. This week she even gave up her crayon for a friend who did not have one. We are so blessed to have Karoline as part of our St. Sebastian STEM Academy family.
3K This week our class added some blue watercolor paint to water and observed how it changed as the color was mixed in. We then used our paint to change a white sheet of paper into the blue sky that we can see from our window. Each student within our class was able to observe what would happen when they mixed together yellow and blue playdough. Now the shape and animal cookies we cut out are green. The 3K class was also introduced to magnifying lenses this week at our Science table. We are using them to take a closer look at items we find during recess; such as feathers, leaves, and bugs.
4K This week we read the story, If You Take a Mouse to School. In the story the mouse would build a little mouse house out of blocks so we made some furniture for the mouse out of blocks, Legos, Play-doh, and connecting cubes.
5K We tossed "pushed" balls into buckets that were equally spaced apart from one another. The goal was to help us understand that more force was needed to toss the ball a further distance.
1st grade In first grade we got to try out the school's new rolling STEM cart. Our class explored a variety of different STEM activities that are kept on this special cart. We were able to use magnets, build structures with poles, make ramps for balls, and even control Botley, who is a coding robot!
Please report your sick child to the main office 262-425-0009 before 7:45am. Also, please remember that the day starts at 7:25, if you are running late, please bring your child through the main doors and sign them in to the main office. If your child comes to school after 7:45, breakfast will be over. Thank you!
Also, if you will be checking out your child early on a school day, please call Ms. Lori at the school office. Teachers do not always get a chance to look at their email or Dojo during the school day. Thank you.
Just a reminder that your child needs to be 24 hrs. fever and/or vomit free before they can return to school.

Catrin and Catrina Contest Flyer - We are thrilled to announce that for the first time during our Hispanic Heritage Event, AHANA will be hosting a Catrin and Catrina contest! Trunk or Treat
We will be holding our annual trunk or treat on Sunday, October 27th. Things will be a bit different this year. Per Archdiosese rules, you must be safe guarded in order to decorate your car and pass out candy. You do not need to be safe guarded in order to trick or treat with your kids. See below for more information on Safe guarding training. We will have more information on Trunk or Treat in the next few weeks.

This month the girls earned their Daisy Promise Center patch by learning and reciting The Girl Scout Promise!
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Each month, the girls will do activities to learn about and grow in each of the areas represented by each of the Daisy petals. Additionally, the girls will earn “fun patches” by participating in events and service opportunities around the community!

Please share this information with anyone who is dropping-off or picking-up your student. Here is a video that explains our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Here is map that shows a visual and here are written directions. Our school hours are from 7:25-2:25. Drop off starts at 7:05. Students who are not picked up by 2:35 will be brought to the office and will need to be picked up from the front of the school.
You can find our uniform policy here. Please note, students must be in closed toed and closed-back shoes. No sandals or crocs.
We are in need of volunteers! Our areas of need include lunch, recess, mass, music, art, and physical education. We are also looking for monthly speakers to talk about their STEM-related careers. If you are interested in volunteering please call us at 262-425-0009 or email Mrs. McCauley at amccauley@sienacatholicschools.org.
In order to volunteer in our building or at any school events you need to have a background check and have completed the Safe Environment Training. There are many options available online in our area. If you do not remember if you have had this training in the past please reach out to me and I can look you up in our system. Please share this with anyone you know that is interested in volunteering at the school. I highly recommend doing this if you plan on being involved in any school events.
