We had another great week full of learning! Thank you and your students for the thoughtful cards and drawings this week for Principal Appreciation Day. I felt the love and I am so blessed to lead this St. Sebastian STEM Academy family. I am thankful to be surrounded by so many incredible people.
As we look ahead to next week, I am so excited to celebrate our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week! They work hard every single day to make our school a place of learning and love for our students and families. Thank you for your generosity of giving snacks and helping to provide meals for our teachers next week. We are looking forward to showing them how much they are appreciated!
Please report your sick child to the main office 262-425-0009 before 7:45am. Also, please remember that the day starts at 7:25, if you are running late, please bring your child through the main doors and sign them in to the main office. Thank you!

May Crowning
Next Friday we will be doing a crowning of Mary at the grotto with Deacon Eric. We are inviting students to bring flowers to place by Mary to school on Friday. This is a tradition that St. Sebastian students did when the school used to be open. We are excited to bring this tradition back!
We are looking forward to our field trip on May 14th! It will be a dress down day for students but please pay attention to the weather to dress your student appropriately. Apply bug spray and sunscreen at home before school if needed. Chaperones please check your emails for more information on timing and transportation.
We will be helping clean St. Sebastian's parish and school grounds, then move over to a local park to help clean up our Earth. We will meet at St. Sebastian's Parish at 8:00 on May 18th. Here is the link if you would like to join us.!
St. Sebastian's STEM Academy will be in this year's Memorial Day Parade in Sturtevant. The parade is on May 25th at registration is at 8:00am and the parade starts at 10:00. We would love for you to be a part of it. Please fill out this form if you are planning on joining us in the parade!
Siena's Day of Giving is coming up on May 16. The funds raised from "Siena Grows" will benefit all Siena schools. As part of Siena Grows, we are asking students, staff, and families to take part in a friendly competition between schools. Check your pockets, between your couch cushions, in your piggy bank, and under your car seat for loose change and bring it to school from May 13-16. The school that raises the most money per student will receive an ice cream incentive!
Our student of the week this week is Dorothy from our 4K classroom! She brings a smile and laughter everywhere she goes! She can always be found helping her classmates whether in the classroom, on the playground, or at lunch. We are so blessed to have Dorothy as part of our St. Sebastian STEM Academy family.
3K This week 3K has become "Explorers Extraordinaires", just like Fancy Nancy. We used magnifying glasses to observe bugs and plants around our school. We also learned more about caring for God's World by recycling and putting garbage into nearby trash cans. "Leave No Trace" as a scout would say. 3K ended its week by reusing materials to create a pair of binoculars to investigate the world around them. We will be using them next week to see how the "April showers brought May flowers."
4K Our 4K students worked this week on coding a square. They first practiced making a square with eight step directions using boxes, coding cards and the Vex robots .
5K In Math K5 continued to add and subtract within 20. In our PLTW unit we are learning about meteorology and severe weather. We are looking forward to a visit from TMJ4 next week!

Home and School met Monday, April 8th. Our next meeting will be on Monday, May 6th at 6:00pm at School. We are working on a lot of fun things to do this spring. Please consider joining us!
Journey with Christ on Saturday June 1st at 4:30. This will be a beautiful way to celebrate The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ/Corpus Christi.
