Thank you to those that joined us for our Catholic Schools Walk and thank you to those of you that donated money. We cannot wait to use it towards a future playground. It was a beautiful day! Thank you also to those of you that donated items for our Trunk or Treat event this Sunday. We are blessed with generous families. This will be a huge help in our fundraising efforts. We hope to see you all there! Fingers crossed that the weather cooperates.
Please remember to fill out the lunch count linked in the newsletter each week by Sunday night. It is helpful for our teachers and lunch staff to know ahead of time.
Please report your sick child to the main office 262-425-0009 before 7:45 am. Also, please remember that the day starts at 7:25, if you are running late, please bring your child through the main doors and sign them in to the main office. Thank you!
Also, if you will checking out your child early on a school day. Please call Ms. Lori at the school office. Teachers do not always get a chance to look at their email or Dojo during the school day. Thank you.

So many of you have reached out to us regarding spiritwear. Now is your chance to order. Our next order will not be until early spring. We added a few more items to the site. The orders will come before Christmas, so these will make great gifts. This order form will run through November 5th. Below is the link to order. All orders will be delivered to St. Sebastian's.
Come join us this Sunday, October 29th from 2:00 - 4:00pm in the back parking lot, for our Trunk or Treat. If you would like to participate, all you have to do is decorate your car and pass out candy. The parish will be joining us in the festivities. The kids can come dressed up in their Halloween costumes and go up and down the parking lot trick or treating. You do not have to decorate your car. For the parish flyer please click here.

What in the world is Socktober? Well, it is a made-up word based on SOCK and OCTOBER. We are using the term to let people know that this October we are collecting socks of any size to donate to HALO for those in need. Thank you to those that have donated so far!

Join us November 14th from 5:00 - 6:00 for a night of fun with all of our STEM equipment. Bring the family and explore all our cool manipulatives and sensory tables. Please fill out this form so we know how many people plan on coming!
SAVE the date - Saturday, December 16th. St. Sebastian will be holding our 1st Christmas Party from 5:30- 7:30pm after Mass. We are looking for some volunteers to help with this event. Please join our virtual meeting on Mondays at 6pm.

Greyson from 4K was selected as our student of the week this week! He lights up the school with his infectious smile and is kind to everyone! We enjoy his insightful conversations. We are so blessed to have him as part of our St. Sebastian STEM Academy family!
3K This week 3K mixed blue and red playdough together to make purple. On Wednesday, we went on a walk around our neighborhood to observe all of the beautiful things that "God made good" in our world. We saw birds in the sky, leaves on the trees and on the ground, clouds moving across the sky, and fun decorations for Halloween. When we returned to our classroom, we used our markers to put our observations down on paper by coloring leaves the colors we saw outside.
4K We continue to study living/nonliving things. Our focus this week is bird feeders. The children will design/draw their favorite bird feeder. They also loved learning about the many different types of birds . They loved watching videos of the birds eating their favorite type of food. In addition they observed them taking a bath .
5K This week K5 explored how the amount of force affects how an object moves. We did a taste test to learn the difference between sweet, salty, bitter, and sour. We finished Black and Orange Day with a Pumpkin Tower Challenge.

Growing your knowledge
Our churches have some great ways to learn more about your faith. If you are looking for something new to grow in your faith life, contact Eric Antrim to learn about the many learning opportunities St. Lucy and St. Sebastian's churches have to grow.
A 12th international student, Idaira D. with CIEE, is currently attending St. Catherine’s and needs a new host family. She speaks good English and has her own medical insurance as well as her own spending money to cover personal expenses.
Idaira loves big cities, she’s very easy going, loves to watch sports, loves roller skating, she’s going to university next year for International studies, she’s an only child, thinks gazpacho is overrated , LOVES Italian food, very talkative and engaging in conversation, loves shopping, and speaks both Spanish and Catalan.
A volunteer host family simply puts another plate on the table and welcomes the student as one of their own! Host families can be retired, single parents, couples with or without children of any age, etc. Idaira’s current host family has some unexpected personal matters they need to deal with and they really want her to find a great family!

In order to volunteer in our building or at any school events you need to have a background check and have completed the Safe Environment Training. If you were unable to make the September 13th date there are many options available online in our area. If you do not remember if you have had this training in the past please reach out to me and I can look you up in our system. Please share this with anyone you know that is interested in volunteering at the school. I highly recommend doing this if you plan on being involved in any school events.

Once logged in, complete the curriculum called "Initial Training for Clergy, Volunteers and Employees"
Complete the curriculum and RSVP for an in person training session (if you do not see the St. Sebastian option yet it will be posted within the next week, other Siena school options will be available too)
Once class is complete the background check will run and once that is back and clear, you will be certified and can start volunteering.
