I hope you are all staying warm! Next week we will be attending mass on Monday for the Immaculate Conception instead of Thursday. Mass on Monday is at 10:30 if you would like to join.
We are about one week away from our Jingle Jangle Jubilee! Please read through all of the information below. Remember the concert is after the 4:30 Mass in the church, starting at 5:30, followed by the event in the church basement. Students are encouraged to wear festive Christmas attire that is more formal.
We will have some Christmas fun the last week of school before Christmas break. Information can be found here. Students will come home with a paper copy today too.

We are excited to invite you to our second annual Jingle Jangle Jubilee on December 14th 2024 – a festive celebration you won’t want to miss! The holiday magic begins after the 4:30 PM Mass at St. Sebastian's Church with a Christmas concert at 5:30 PM, followed by a merry party in the church basement located at 3126 95th St, Sturtevant, WI 53177. The evening will be filled with holiday cheer, including Christmas crafts, raffle baskets (drawing at 7:00 PM), a special visit from Santa, a delicious dinner, and much more!

Want to be principal and secretary for the day?
With every toy you donate for our Toys for Tots collection at the Jingle Jangle Jubilee, you will earn a chance to win a day shadowing Ms. McCauley and Ms. Lori. Please donate toys in the main office before the event or at our celebration. The winner will be announced at the end of the Jubilee.

3K - This week during PLTW, our class finished looking at our teeth and how we can keep them clean and healthy. We used a mirror and a toothbrush to practice all the different ways to brush our teeth: (places) top, bottom, inside, outside, and our tongue; (how) circles, front to back, and side to side. With the help of Danny Go, Colgate, and a story, we were reminded that we need to brush for 2 minutes, twice a day. Our class also discussed those foods that help us keep our teeth healthy and strong.
4K - In 4K we conducted experiments with candy canes. We put them in warm water, cold water, and oil to see what happens. We also made a craft candy cane out of various materials.
5K - We started adding in Math this week!
In Science, we have been learning about "pushes and pulls" the past couple of months. We are now ready to become Scientists and Engineers! The problem we must solve is How to move rocks from a backyard to make room to build a swing. We started drawing our models today. Next we will work with a partner and build our designs. (Thank you to everyone who brought in supplies for us to use).
For technology, we watched a live stream on the Scholastic Books website of the author, Gina Bellisario, reading her story "Give Back." We were able to type questions for her to answer (she didn't pick any of ours) and listen to her answer other student's questions.
1st grade - First grade is learning in science about how animals use their senses. We are investigating how animals use their senses differently than humans do. Students got to explore their own five senses and then compare them to how an animal might use theirs.
Our student of the week this week is Roselyn from our 3K classroom! She comes to school every day with a smile on her face and excitedly greets all of her classmates by name. She is a leader in Mass and has been participating in all of her classroom activities. We are so blessed to have Roselyn as part of our St. Sebastian STEM Academy family.

With the cold temperatures and snow arriving, please send your student in warm clothing for recess. If your student will want to play in the snow, they will need snow pants and boots.
We will be collecting hats and mittens for those in need through December 20th. You can drop off your donation in the main office.

Please try and stick to the meals that you signed up for. You will be charged for what you signed up for unless you notify us the day before for breakfast or the morning of for lunch. At the beginning of each month I will send you 2 copies of the breakfast and lunch menu. One is to return to school, and the other is for you to keep at home. If you need a copy of your child's menu, please let me know and I will get one to you. Thank you
Our lunches are all served kid friendly, if it says orange Chicken, everything will be served in separate sections. So basically it is chicken nuggets unless they choice to dip it in the orange sauce. Hope this helps.

Please report your sick child to the main office 262-425-0009 before 7:45am. Also, please remember that the day starts at 7:25, if you are running late, please bring your child through the main doors and sign them in to the main office. If your child comes to school after 7:45, breakfast will be over. Thank you!
Also, if you will be checking out your child early on a school day, please call Ms. Lori at the school office. Teachers do not always get a chance to look at their email or Dojo during the school day. Thank you.
Just a reminder that your child needs to be 24 hrs. fever and/or vomit free before they can return to school.

Each month, the girls will do activities to learn about and grow in each of the areas represented by each of the Daisy petals. Additionally, the girls will earn “fun patches” by participating in events and service opportunities around the community!

Please share this information with anyone who is dropping-off or picking-up your student. Here is a video that explains our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Here is map that shows a visual and here are written directions. Our school hours are from 7:25-2:25. Drop off starts at 7:05. Students who are not picked up by 2:35 will be brought to the office and will need to be picked up from the front of the school.
You can find our uniform policy here. Please note, students must be in closed toed and closed-back shoes. No sandals or crocs.
We are in need of volunteers! Our areas of need include lunch, recess, mass, music, art, and physical education. We are also looking for monthly speakers to talk about their STEM-related careers. If you are interested in volunteering please call us at 262-425-0009 or email Mrs. McCauley at amccauley@sienacatholicschools.org.
In order to volunteer in our building or at any school events you need to have a background check and have completed the Safe Environment Training. There are many options available online in our area. If you do not remember if you have had this training in the past please reach out to me and I can look you up in our system. Please share this with anyone you know that is interested in volunteering at the school. I highly recommend doing this if you plan on being involved in any school events.
