3K - Our class learned about animals that hibernate in the winter this week. We learned that a bear eats a lot before hibernation so that it can dream and sleep all winter long. While other animals, like a chipmunk, may wake up and eat a few of the nuts they collected before winter and then go back to sleep. Each student even made their very own hedgehog out of playdough and pipe cleaners.
4K- 4k has been reading The Gingerbread Man in class this week. One of the characters was a cow and in the story we did not see the cow had a barn to stay in when it was cold. Students then had to build a barn for the cow out of different materials in class.
5K- We had a nice time at the Santa Stem field trip this week. We saw some fun Science in action!
In Math, we are finishing up our subtraction chapter. We have been using illustrations, counters, cubes, and equations to show our understanding of the terms "take away" and "how many are left."
1st & 2nd Grade- Hello families! We explored mass, volume and density this past week by creating our own tin foil boats. The students were divided into small groups to plan and create the boat. We then applied our growth mindset to see if the design was successful or not. Students also learned that sometimes you need to revisit your plan and make adjustments.
