Snowy Weather Rules
Please send your student with extra shoes or boots on snowy days. Students will need snow gear (snowpants, boots, hat, jacket, gloves) to play in the snow but there will be no playing on ice, building tunnels, or climbing hills. All students will go out for recess and if they do not have the proper attire they will stay in the shoveled areas. No one will stay inside unless they have a doctor's note. We will stay in for extreme cold, wind, and/or rain.
Save the date for January 30th for our Early Childhood Family Night! Similar to our STEM Night, we are inviting all of our families to join in on a night of fun including reading, craft activities, religion activities, STEM challenges, and more! Please fill out this form if you plan on attending!
February 18th-24th is Engineers Week and is one of the largest STEM events of the year! We are looking for anyone who has a job in engineering to come in and speak to our students and/or lead them in an engineering activity. Home and School met this past Monday. Here are the minutes of our meeting. Our next meeting will be on Monday, February 12th, 6:00pm at School. Please consider joining us.
Pics of the Week
Due to the snow day today, we were unable to get a picture of our Student of the Week. We will have 2 next week.
3K This week 3K used our white playdough to create snowmen, igloos, nests, snowflakes, and snowballs. We talked all about the things we see and feel outside when it is winter. We used mirrors to observe those parts of our bodies and faces that help us to use our 5 senses. We also used them to create steam with our mouths and discussed how we may see our breath outside in cold weather.
4K We are looking at our animal pictures and classifying them into groups. We are making large posters on our classroom whiteboards.
5K We had a busy week learning about farm animals, solving addition problems, and exploring how variables such as the amount of force and the height of a ramp affect the speed and distance traveled by a ball.

We invite everyone in our parish and school to join us for Faith Family Nights! We meet after the 4:45 PM Mass. These evenings are a chance to grow closer together as a community and learn more about our Catholic faith.
We will gather in the Church Narthex at St. Rita's. We'll begin with a potluck dinner - so bring a dish to pass. There will be games, crafts, activities, and lots of fun learning! Gather for an opening message and introduction of our special theme at 6:00 pm. Closing message around 7:30 pm
If you want to attend the 4:45 PM Mass, you can drop off dishes in the Church Narthex before Mass if you wish.
All parishioners are invited to attend - families with children of any age, singles, couples, elderly, young adults.
All are welcome!

Growing your knowledge
Our churches have some great ways to learn more about your faith. If you are looking for something new to grow in your faith life, contact Eric Antrim to learn about the many learning opportunities St. Lucy and St. Sebastian's churches have to grow.
In order to volunteer in our building or at any school events you need to have a background check and have completed the Safe Environment Training. If you were unable to make the September 13th date there are many options available online in our area. If you do not remember if you have had this training in the past please reach out to me and I can look you up in our system. Please share this with anyone you know that is interested in volunteering at the school. I highly recommend doing this if you plan on being involved in any school events.

Once logged in, complete the curriculum called "Initial Training for Clergy, Volunteers and Employees"
Complete the curriculum and RSVP for an in person training session (if you do not see the St. Sebastian option yet it will be posted within the next week, other Siena school options will be available too)
Once class is complete the background check will run and once that is back and clear, you will be certified and can start volunteering.
Kids Town hours for St. Sebastian hours are:
6:30 - 7 a.m. &
2:30 - 5:30 p.m.
