Im interested in this topic because I wanna send a message to all the youth that there is good healthy outlets out there. You don't necessary need to write and make a song but just noting down your thoughts and emotions could take a relief off your shoulders. I also feel that a lot of these kids/youth nowadays go through trauma and deal with grief so im just giving them a piece of my mind because I was once in that situation, feeling alone. As well as letting them know that you not alone and as natives we have a high rate of drugs and alcohol so I wanna show them you don’t have to turn to those. But my personal connection is that I kinda was around music since I was young, from my grandpa to someone in my community. I would always sing with my grandpa and after he passed away I just carried it with me and it put me in situations I never would’ve pictured. Also making music really opened my eyes because I say stuff in my songs that people can relate to, so just being that positive impact is my goal and why i'm choosing this topic.

In ¨Kendrick Lamar´s Super Bowl Halftime Show Article ¨ by Elsie Sutherland in 2025, it talks about how his performance was a powerful political message. You see Kendrick didn't care if he lost some fans but he was able to do that with his platform he has. He said a quote saying ¨40 acres and a mule¨ referring to the reparations promised to Black Americans after the end of slavery in 1885. However many disagreed with the performance, many praised him for it. He said these messages while having President Donald Trump in attendance, saying ¨You picked the right time but the wrong guy¨. Even had Samuel Jackson on stage. Meanwhile his songs were delivered with an enchantment of symbolism and historical metaphors that made it to be remembered as one of history's meaningful halftime shows.
