Laguna/Santo Domingo Pueblo
Author: Jeanette Armstrong
Armstrong explains the 4 terms of self and how we are connected to everything and everything is connected to us . It brought a new perspective into my mind when she said the earth is us and we are the old earth all in one. Everything we learned like languages and speaking was taught from the earth and its natural resources .

Memories and stories are connected to our land as described by B. Toastie . This article explains why landscapes and stories hold meanings to them. when you remember a certain place's story , in a way you transform and take in all the energy connected to that place's past .
"We are this one part of Earth. Without this self and this bond, we are not human"
"there is a dispassion of energy that has become a way of life in illness and other forms of human pain."
Author: Joseph Suina

De Vore, Cherie L.
"Chemical interactions and mobility of uranium near abandoned mine wastes at Rio Paguate, Laguna New Mexico."
Cherie Devore shared her research about dust mobility and contaminated Land On Laguna Pueblo as well as Old Mine Sites . She talked about specific plants and stream beds that were contaminated with (u) Uranium concentration. It opened my eyes a lot considering I hunt and like to travel near these areas . Tamirax and Cedar roots carried (u) concentration 3 miles downstream from the mine . She compared data from a timeline of 50 years showing that Uranium contamination and concentration is just as bad as it was when the mine closed for good.
Lorenzo, June. "Gendered Impacts of Jackpile Uranium Mining on Laguna Pueblo."
This article talked about how the mine disrupted many lives changing them from the "Native" way of life a more to a more modern"White" man version of way. These new experiences and change brought out bad habits that influenced on our people. Not too far from the village of a Pagaute is a bar that operates on spanish land surrounding the Paguate area, this bar became a daily stop to many workers who were both native and non-natives. This bar allowed Miners to cash their pay check and was close to home ,making it a one stop shop for their needs.
