Weather

For this project we were assigned to create a image that represented weather. I chose to create a image of food coloring that is swirled around to show weather patterns. I used my Canon Rebel T5 and the darkroom process to print this image. Some of the photographic techniques I used are: low key lighting because of the dark colors. Leading lines is used because the different swirls lead your eyes to different parts of the photo. Grouping is used because of the number of swirls and lines that are used throughout this image. Angle down is also used because I had to angle my camera down to get this image. Lastly, sharp focus is used because the whole image is in focus. I used the following elements of art in my artwork: line is used because of all the different swirls that lead your eyes throughout the image. Shape is used because the lines created swirls, circles, and other figures. Value is also used, because there is a large range of value on the grey scale. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: the kind of balance used in this image is formal balance, because both sides of the image look the same. Contrast is used mostly in color rather than texture, because the black and whites contrast very well. Movement is shown by the swirling motions that were created while creating this image. The swirls show a little bit of pattern but not very much. Overall, I like how this image came out because I don't think it is too dark or too light. I also think that I did a good job on my borders when printing this image.
