Artist Statement:
This image shows the sunrise over the harbor. The subject is the sunrise, i like how the sun is just barely coming over the tree line. I used far distance, silhouette lighting ( the trees),leading lines ( kayak), and high horizon.I chose to include the kayak so that i would have leading lines. I also wanted to include the mud/water because it shows the reflection of the sunrise and i thought it looked really cool. You can also see the water droplets on the kayak, the droplets also show the reflection from the sun.
Leading lines are shown by the kayak, silhouette lighting is shown by the trees, rule of thirds is used because the kayak is in two thirds of the picture, grouping is shown by the quantity of the trees, high horizon is shown because the horizon is in the top quarter of the picture, and far distance. I took a lot of fotos of the sunrise but i chose this photo because i likes the you could see the kayak and the water droplets. i also like this photo because the kayak let you to the subject of the photo which is the sunrise. The only thing i changed in this photo was the size, i cropped some of the photo so that you couldn't see the ladder.
The took this photo because it reminds me of the ocean and the sunrise shows that everyday is a new start. This photo relates to my life because i grew up by the water and i always walked down with my family to go swimming. Two things that i wish i could take out of this photo is the latter that is on the right side of the photo and i also wish i could take out chain that is in he bottom left corner of the photo, i want to take out these two things because they are a little bit distracting.
