Leading Lines

For this project we were assigned to take pictures that showed leading lines, I chose to take pictures of my families grandfather clock. I thought that using a clock would be a good representation because the roman numerals, the clock hands and the other lines all act as leading lines. I used my canon rebel T5 and photoshop to edit and take these images. Some of the photographic techniques I used were: Leading lines, low key lighting shown by the dull colors, grouping shown by the circle of lines, and close distance. I used the following elements of art in my artwork: color, line shown by the multiple lines, and shape is shown by the geometric shapes like squares that are used. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: contrast shown by the opposite colors, pattern shown by the lined patterns circling the clock, and emphasis is used because all the lines on the clock lead towards the clock hands which are the focus. This final product make me feel good because I feel both images are strong. I think that the first image plays with your eyes if you look at it for long enough.
