Photographic intent

For this project we were given a number of photos that we could choose to create a similar photo. I chose the image that had to be macro/close up and be of a object, so i chose to use lolly pops and jolly ranchers to make this image. I used my Canon Rebel T5 to take this image and photoshop to enhance the color. Some of the photographic techniques I used are: high key lighting is shown by the bright colors, selective focus is used because the jolly rancher is in focus and the rest of the image is blurry, grouping is shown by the number of lolly pops and jolly ranchers there are, the lolly pop sticks act as leading lines, close distance, and angle down is used because I had to angle the camera down to take this image. I used the following elements of art in my artwork:the different colors on the lolly pops and jolly ranchers represent color, the lolly pop sticks represent line, the lolly pops and jolly ranchers show different shapes, and you can also see the different textures of the jolly ranchers/lolly pops and their wrappers. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: there is contrast in colors in both images, in the second image there is emphasis on the jolly rancher because it is the only thing in focus, and in the first photo the balance that is used is formal balance because both sides of the image look the same. This image relates to my life because ever since I was little I have loved eating jolly ranchers.
