For this project we were assigned to take a image that showed a relationship. I chose to take a image that showed my cat drinking out of our sink because she only drinks water out of the sink. I used my Canon Rebel T5 and the darkroom process to create this image. Some of the photographic techniques I used are: low key lighting is used because of the dark colors. Rule of thirds is used because around 2/3 of the image is filled by the cat. Sharp focus is used because the image is in focus. Leading lines is also shown by the water and the cats paw. I used the following elements of art in my artwork: line is shown by the cats paw and the water. The different geometric figures represent shape. Different textures are shown on the cat and the water. There are also different values on the grey scale. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: the balance used in this photo is rule of thirds because 2/3 of the image is used. Contrast is shown by the opposite colors and textures. There is also emphasis on the cat. I was a little disappointed in these prints because when they were drying they got chemicals dripped on them, which changed their colors. This image relates to my life because we got this cat when I was really young.
