Final Photo 1

I think that my work shows how I have improved as a photographer because if you look at my photos from the beginning of the year to the images now I think that you will see that the images now are much better, the images now use many more composition rules, elements of art, and principles of design, overall I think that as I progressed in the year my images got stronger as I learned more. The most challenging part of photography 1 was the film portion, this was much more difficult mainly because I didn't have a very good camera. I used a point and shoot camera for film which meant that I couldn't manually focus the images so that they were clear, I always had to guess if the image would come out clear or not. The film portion was also very difficult because I never had time to get the projects finished because I didn't have time during classes to develop and print the photos. I am most proud of my digital photos because they always came out clear and I could edit them as much as I wanted, where as in the film portion it was more difficult. One image that I really like is the image of my cat’s face coming out of the doorway, I like this image because it uses many composition rules, elements of art, and principles of design resulting in a strong image. I also think that putting the image in black and white instead of color was a good decision. One of my strengths was using composition rules and I think that my work shows that by using a variety of them, two things I wasn't so good at were the elements of art and principles of design and my work showed that because while I was taking photos I was thinking about composition rules instead of elements of art and principles of design.
