Monochromatic Color

For this project we were assigned to take monochromatic images, I chose to images of cans that are all the same color. I used a ginger soda called Vernors, this image relates to my life because this soda is from Michigan. Every time my family and go to Michigan we always bring home 3 cases of Vernors because they don't sell this kind of soda in Maine. I used my Canon Rebel T5 and photoshop to enhance the color. Some of the photographic techniques I used are: high key lighting which is shown by the bright colors, close up, selective focus is used because the focus is clear and the background is blurry, and formal balance is used because both sides of the image are look the same. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: the type of Balance that is used in this image is formal balance, contrast is shown by the opposite colors , pattern is shown by how the cans are arranged, and movement is used because the sprinkles lead your eyes throughout the image. I used these elements of art in my artwork: color, line which is represented by the circles and other lines of the sides and top of the can, and shape is shown by the different circle and rectangles. This completed work makes me feel okay because i feel like these images could have been stronger.
