Feet

For this project we were assigned to take photos of feet. Instead of taking a picture of human feet I decided to take a picture of my cats paws. I used my Canon Rebel T5 to take this image, I also used my computer to edit this image. Some photographic techniques I used are: close up, selective focus which was used to make the background blurry and the subject of the photo clear, I know that there is high horizon line because the line of the top of the bed acts as the horizon line , leading lines which is used in the line of the bed and the line of the pillow, and high key lighting. I used the following elements of art in my artwork: Color, line shown in the line of the bed and the pillow, texture which is seen in the cats foot , and space which is shown because not all of the image is filled with the cat. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: the Balance that is used here is informal balance , there is emphasis on the cats foot because it is the subject of the photo, and there is contrast in textures and there is also contrast in colors . This completed work makes me feel okay because I feel I could have done better but I also like the way I angled this photo. I enjoy taking photos of my cat because I see her everyday when I wake up and I go to sleep, this photo was taken on the night of our Super Bowl party.
