This assignment was a line value scale. We had to use lines to create value on the scale. As the lines got farther apart, the value was lighter, and as they got closer together, the value was darker. I used only pencil to complete my line value scale. The elements of art present in this piece are value and line. My line value scale was kind of the same value in the beginning, but I changed it so that there was a distinct difference in each of the 10 boxes. I chose to make each line/shape in each square very different because I wanted each to have a completely different value. I am most proud of my first 4 boxes because I feel that they are the most accurate in the case of making each get lighter in value as you go across the scale. I struggled with the last few boxes because I couldn't make these as different as the first few boxes. I think that my live value scale could have been better if I had used a ruler to make the lines because they are not very straight.
