I am most proud of my stuff from the soft slab construction project. I am most proud of these because I feel like they look most professional out of all of my products. I think that I succeeded in this project with the construction of the mugs and platters, as well as the color choice and decorating. I am especially proud of my yellow mug. I think that keeping it simple and clean was a good choice because it made it easier to avoid the glaze doing weird things and the mug getting messy. From doing this project, I learned how to use slabs to make mugs and platters, which I think is very useful. I also learned that keeping it simple is good because it looks more professional. This class has changed the way I think I about ceramics because I realized that it's a lot harder to make it clean and look good than I expected. It makes me appreciate ceramics more because I now know that it takes a lot of work to get it how you want it to look. I think I also benefited from looking at other artist's work and trying to use their same techniques to make something of our own. That directly showed how hard it is to make something look clean while using that specific technique. Ceramics I is one of the funnest, laid-back classes I've had in high school, and I think it's awesome how we have the freedom to make what we want as long as is follows the guidelines of the technique we are learning. So, overall, I think that this class is great!
