Originally, my first project of my concentration was going to be my teapot, but I realized that I would have to multitask in order to get a project done to be graded. While my teapot was drying and getting ready to be fired, I decided to create something sort of small and simple using the theme of stars. I decided to use wire because it was the material I was looking forward to using after clay. I started by using a thicker wire to make the outline/base of a star. This was very challenging because it was hard to shape the wire in the way I wanted it. It didn't come out very symmetrical but I liked it because it looked rustic. Next, I used a thinner wire and wrapped it around each of the points of the star. I wrapped it all the way around then secured it in the middle by tightly wrapping it around a wire that was in the middle of the star. I did this to all 5 of the points of the star. I wanted it to be a hanging wall decoration, so I connected a piece of wire to 2 ends of the points of the star. At this point, there was an empty hole in the middle of the star, and I wasn't sure what I should put in it. I decided to just leave it empty. I am proud of how I was able to multitask with my projects as I was using clay. Although this wasn't supposed to be the first piece in my concentration, I am proud of how it turned out. If I were to change anything about it, I would've tried to make the original outline of the star more symmetrical, but I liked how it had a rustic look to it.
