Abstract Shoe Drawing

This assignment was to use the one of the drawings in the zoom and crop assignment and make an abstract drawing out of it. We had to use different, natural patterns to fill in the empty space. I tried to use original patterns like the scales and woven patterns so that it would unique. I used pencil for the outline of the drawing and colored pencils for the rest of the drawing. The element of art used in this drawing are color and lines. I also made a lot of contrast between the different pattern. I changed what I was going to do with the checkered print by instead of only coloring the boxes orange and red, I switched colors 1/3 of the way through so that I used more color. I am most proud of my checkered print because I like the color scheme and the way it came out was really nice. I struggled with the scales because it was really hard to keep the hexagons all the same size. My abstract shoe drawing could have been better if I used a hexagon shape to trace the scales so they would have been the same size.
