For this project we were tasked with choosing a aerial view from either Freeport,Pownal, or Durham; before painting it on a yellow based block, abstract or realistic. We also had to leave behind a part of the block yellow to add contrast to it. I enjoy the way I designed the pattern of the river, I feel as though the shades of blue fit together nicely. Moving on to the land, it isn't my best work. When I was painting the river, I never really thought forward to what I was doing with the land. So when I did get there I was kinda like ‘eh’. I knew I wanted to place some geometric shapes into this piece, so I decided to do it on the land. But as I got to painting the, more and more, I realized I wasn't falling in love with it as much as I first thought. Either way I finished the shapes, and to give them a little more pop, decided to outline them in white. This did help it reach more of a appealing appearance to me, even though I wasn't really in love with it. If I could start over I would like to do something different with the land. At the moment I have no new ideas on what to do with it. If an ideas does come to me in the future, I would like time to go back and revise this piece. Though for right now, I'm fine with this product.
