Photographic Intent

"I WALK A LONELY ROAD"

This image shows a long road in a sparsely inhabited part of town where houses are far apart and there aren't a lot of people around. The image was created with the intent of creating an image using rule of thirds and a barren/isolated landscape. I edited the image by isolating the sky and changing its color to something more interesting than the natural grey. I also clone stamped out a car to make the image more barren.

The image primarily uses leading lines in the road and telephone pole, as well as rule of thirds in the telephone pole, road, and house's position. Originally, I wanted this project to take place on the ocean, but I couldn't find anything interesting enough that would also work with my concentration on lines. The road and the telephone poles ended up meeting that criteria.

This image is meant to seem barren and isolated, with no person in sight, and the isolation of the house. Also isolated is the bright color of the house in contrast with the dull tones of other items in the picture. To me, this picture reminds me of the drive I take near this road on my way to Brunswick. I usually don't encounter anyone and the roads give me the sense of a beautiful, winding, and unpopulated part of the town. If I were to revise this image, I may crouch down a little more to get rid of the house you can see in the background.
