Thanksgiving

For this assignment I aimed to capture the spirit of Thanksgiving. Since my camera was broken when I was at my actual Thanksgiving in Vermont, I took pictures of my friends at lunch. Chloe, Mikaela, and Lauren are all "feasting" on their post-thanksgiving lunches and Colby, not participating in the feast, has been crossed out. I took a lot of photos for my film roll of people eating at the table, but none of them really reminded me of what a thanksgiving feast really looks like. This photo utilizes repetition and leading lines with the row of girls positioned similarly in a line down the table. Originally, my project didn't have Colby's face crossed out, but leaving it in the rinse all weekend resulted in the damage. So, while it was not an intentional change, that was one thing that changed with this project. Other than that, the project remained largely unchanged as I took the images and printed them. The project reminds me of both my friends and the spirit of thanksgiving that I wasn't able to capture in Vermont, so in the end this project feels like a success to me. If I were to revise it, I would reprint the photo and not leave it in the rinse all weekend.
