LINES Concentration

The central idea of my concentration was lines and how they created depth in photographs. This eventually evolved to include circles/tunnels that created similar depth. I think both natural and architectural lines make an image really strong and give the sense that a 2D image can have an incredible sense of 3D space. The first few images show architectural lines and straightforward, uniform lines that give you a sense of space within the buildings they were taken. The next few show natural lines in roads, streams, and piers. The idea of the lines in the natural lines section is showing how much depth is in the natural world and how un-uniform lines can contribute to that. The last few photos use repeating circles to show depth in abstraction while also creating a clear line that shows how deep the image goes. They all create the sense of infinity, where you can never quite see where the line ends but you are aware of its presence.
