"Just a little green"

This image shows two fresh flowers on a snowy day, giving a sharp contrast to the environment they are in. I took this image by taking out two flowers out of a vase and sticking them in a pile of snow on my back porch, in front of the woods. The most challenging part was keeping the camera dry in the heavy snow, so I put it in a plastic freezer bag with the lens sticking out.

The main composition rule used is framing, as the two flowers frame the house in the background. There is also some informal balance of the two flowers in differing positions. I took a lot of images, and this one was the best composed in my opinion. I edited it to make the colors of the flowers really stand out.

I really like spring, and I've been dying for it to come soon, so to me this image shows that, even in the deep of winter, spring is coming. If I were to change something about the project, I might set the camera on a tripod to try and capture the snowflakes better.
