A cash register is still a crucial piece of hardware in many modern businesses, including our user-base in the beauty industry. Despite most payments being card based, those payments more often than not include a tip to the stylist who performed the service being paid for. SuperSalon can have it’s tips system configured in a number of ways, but the majority of users elect to just take the tips out of the cash till upon payment of service – making it a very important part of the process for every sale!
The cash drawer is one part in a “daisy chain” of devices, that include the POS, the receipt printer, and the cash drawer. To keep it simple, the cash drawer needs to be connected to a power outlet, and also connected directly to the receipt printer using an RJ12 cable.
The RJ12 cable is not just a “phone cord”, despite it’s appearance! It’s a specialized registered jack and is similar to a phone cord, but more complex and used for device communication purposes.
SuperSalon requires a cash drawer kick code to open a cash drawer. Enter one of the following codes so your software can kick open the cash drawer:
27,112,0,25,250 (include the commas if not separate cells)
27,112,0,64,240 (include the commas if not separate cells)
For a secondary cash drawer setup, use the following code.
27,112,1,25,250 (include the commas if not separate cells)
