Factor 4 Gift Cards

Requirements

• Most recent version of SuperSalon

• Merchant setup sheet from Factor 4

• Pre-configurations by ProPoint staff in SuperSalon to allow processing

• Gift cards provided by Factor 4

Setting Up Factor 4

Enabling Factor 4 and inputting processing data

1. Enable Factor 4 by going to Setup → Software Settings → Marketing → Gift and setting the Gift Processor to Factor 4.

2. Enter the processing information provided by Factor 4 on the customer’s VAR sheet. Save the page.

3. Confirm that the Gift Card payment method was automatically added as a payment method in Setup → Payment Methods.

Running a test transaction and Educating the customer

Factor 4 cards process through manual entry, or scanning the card with a bar code reader using the web terminal described in step 2 regardless of which credit card processor the customer uses. Factor 4 Gift cards are processed exclusively through SuperSalon – NOT the credit card processor!

When you issue and redeem a test card to ensure processing is functional, it’s extremely important that you talk the customer through the process, unless they are sure they already know how it works from using it at another store. Educating the customer on how things work is how they are able to really understand our software, and it prevents frustration and unnecessary calls to the support team – that’s something that our customers and support agents can both get behind.
