Shawnte founded Life Worthy Blessings, Homeless Ministry. She shares: “Homeless communities in our country are often neglected. I wanted to make a change by starting my own nonprofit serving the homeless in my home state of Georgia. My husband John and I started this journey in 2017 with investing only 10% of our income on a monthly basis to purchase items to distribute. On our first mission trip we served 200 men and women by providing gallon sized zip lock bags filled with much needed essentials,food, and water. We love to cook so we have provided hot meals for 100's and they do enjoy every bite! We also provide clothing to fit the weather.

“Today we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization with 14 dedicated volunteers. Together and with the support of other followers we have served more than 13,000 blessing bags! We have partnered with another nonprofit organization contributing to a tiny home community build for homeless veterans. So far 72 homeless veterans now have a safe home and by the end of 2022 there will be 24 more housed! We are currently in the process of establishing a transitional home for homeless families.
