Ana has been volunteering with TeamMates Mentoring since 2018. Ana shares that she was once a youth in need of counsel and mentoring, and this helps her be there for those who seek the same.

Ana shares: "Being a teammates mentor has given me awareness and knowledge of what issues the youth of today face. through a relationship with my mentee, I am able to impact the life of a youth!

Once a week I meet with my mentee during her school lunch. I’ve been meeting with her since she was a 5th grader, now she is getting ready to be a freshman in high school! I have watched grow as a youth during her entire middle school years! I always learn from involving myself with the youth in constructive environments! I am concentrating in juvenile justice so I really learn a lot from being around not only my mentee, but other mentors and mentee. It’s a community of adults and youth who have come together to create positive relationships!"
