Moriam Williams

Master of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management

Moriam Williams is a School Volunteer at Avon Community School Corporation. She assists teachers in keeping the children safe and healthy in the school community, and helps with events and fundraising.

Moriam assists in helping to set up during school events and helps seek donations for events and school resources. She attends meetings regarding preparedness for emergencies like storms, fire emergencies, and other ways to keep the school children safe and ready for attacks or disasters - whether man made disasters like fire, loss of electricity, or natural disasters like earthquakes, tornadoes, or hurricanes.

Moriam says that as a Homeland Security and Emergency Management student, "assisting with putting up mitigation tools, preparing for emergencies, knowing how to respond to emergencies, and making sure the schools recover fast from any disaster, are part of the ways I can assist, and protect the schools from any attack or disaster. I developed a passion for helping, and protecting the school children from attacks or emergencies, because they are young, fragile and they are the future and should be protected at all times."
