Lisa has been volunteering with Crisis Text Line for over two and a half years as a Crisis Counselor and Sunday Night Spike Captain. She says it is extremely rewarding to be able to help people in their time of crisis and to be able to provide support and intervention when they are at their most vulnerable.

Lisa says that having a place where people can reach out for some immediate attention at their time of need is so necessary, especially for those who do not have a permanent support system. In addition, as a text line it allows people in volatile situations to reach out silently to receive support. Knowing there is an outlet for these people in need is invaluable.
