Dr. Julee Poole

Department Chair, Graduate Psychology Department

Dr. Poole serves as a volunteer for Blessed to Blessings Boxes for Baldwin County. Baldwin County, Alabama is a large county with 2027 square miles and 20 towns. It is a very diverse demographic with large pollution of people living below the poverty line. Blessed to Blessings Boxes for Baldwin County wants to ensure that no Baldwin County citizen goes to bed hungry. There are over 6000 volunteers who work to keep the over 50 "Blessing Boxes" filled. Dr Poole says, “Knowing that I am helping in a small way by helping to fill the boxes is extremely gratifying.”

Dr. Poole also serves as an advisory board member for The Alliance for Safe Traffic Stops. She says she is privileged to contribute to a social issue that makes front-page news daily. One of the activities that The Alliance for Safe Traffic Stops is involved with is working to educate high school students through high-tech simulations on how to behave during a law enforcement traffic stop so that all involved remain safe through the stop. Dr. Poole is working with the group on addressing the various psychological outcomes related to a traffic stop that law enforcement and citizens face.
