Renee volunteers with the Alachua county school district disciplinary committee, and also provides a tutoring service to children ages 5-19. Renee said she’s committed to this work to represent the children and parents that look like her in an educational district where there is a serious problem with children of color slipping through the cracks of the educational system. Parent involvement is vital and resources need to be provided to better educate and encourage families to use the tools that are available to them.
