By the end of this week
I have written my own personal philosophy (Using the "develop my philosophy" sheet below (Task 1)
I have completed my response for my chosen health consequence on Google classroom (Task 2)
I have completed a short research task on my chosen health consequence for practices (Task 2)
I have recieved my grade for the contemporary ethical issues assessment task
If I have met criteria for a resubmission, I have been given my, grade and have completed and resubmitted my resubmission work on towards an Achieved grade only.
We have completed marking for the assessment task (Yes, we did this over our holiday break for you). We are in the process of completing grade boundary work where any students who sit in between a grade will be cross checked and their work discussed for a final grade. While there was some pleasing work seen in this first assessment task, there were also areas of work that were dissapointing. Completion of assessment tasks requires some real attention this term and we will be implementing strict assessment working time. This will be in assessment conditions to ensure everyone is completing their set out weekly checkpoints. It is worth noting that students who not achieved in this task also missed checkpoints over the time given. Proof reading is also a concern as it is very clear that there has not been proof reading completed on assessment work. We will unpack this with each of you in person when we return your grades to you as some point this week.
NOTE: If any student has not achieved in the 3.4 ethics assessment task, everyone is enrolled into the 3.2 international health issues external so you are still eligible and able to gain 15 credits from HEA3 if you pass the remaining three assessment tasks.
For those of you completing a resubmission
I have two "for" and two "against" GROUP perspectives (that are a group and NOT AN INDIVIDUAL)
I have explained their attitudes, values and beliefs for each perspective
I have made links to ethical principles and approaches for each perspective (This is not for achieved)
I have discussed the implications as a result of the current law for personal, interpersonal and societal (clear understanding of the different between each. We should not see these merge. You MUST be clear and reflect a clear understanding of PERSONAL, INTERPERSONAL AND SOCIETAL. Many of you have got these incorrect.
These implications should be reflecting
The implications as a result of the current law in NZ. So for Designer babies this means it is prohibitied in New Zealand and for Ethnic based prioritisation (Equity adjustor score) was removed.
Making explicit links to Hauora, socio-ecoloical perspective, health prmotion or attitudes & values

Google classroom Question (Respond to this question ASAP or you will be given a context)
As you know this term we are going to be talking a lot about philosophy. In particular, what is the philosophy for each health practice. This is vital to understand what is being required and what a philosophy is. It is a way of doing things, ideas, beliefs. All of which link strongly to the underlying concept of Attitudes and values. These philosophies define each health practice. The beliefs that surround the practice, why they do what they do and how they do it. Just as your personal philosophy guides you and your actions and your thinking
It is important that you spend 30 minutes completing some basic reserach on your chosen health consequence and the types of practices that are availible in New Zealand to treat this health consequence. It is important to understand that we are looking to treat the condition with the outcome of curing this and as such if your condition has treatments that do not treat to cure then we would suggest you explore other options.
