Weekly working hours for a full-time employee (100% position) in Oda are 37,5 or 35,5 effective working hours per week. This means that the 30-minute break per day is not included and is unpaid.
Employees in Fulfillment and Delivery at Oda work during the day, evening, night, and weekends.
Administrative staff have flexible working hours from 06:00-18:00, with core hours from 09:00-15:00. The location and length of daily and weekly working hours are stated in the current work schedule, which you can find in Quinyx.
You have a 30-minute lunch break per day. The break starts when you leave the workplace and ends when you are back in place. If you work in Fulfillment or Delivery, you must follow the breaks agreed upon by your zone or manager. If you work as a driver, your lunch break is paid. This is because you work your whole shift from the car, and hence we do not have a canteen to offer for your lunch break.
If you work more than two hours overtime, you are entitled to an extra paid break for at least 30 minutes. When conditions require this, the break can be shortened or shifted.
At Oda, we value space for life and overtime should be an exception. Overtime is only allowed if there is a special and time-limited need for it. Overtime can not be used as a fixed schedule and should always be agreed with your manager. You can read more about overtime and our overtime rates here
In some cases where it is critical for the company to ensure the right competency on the shift, we have together with our union representatives agreed that it is allowed to schedule more than six days in a row for a certain employee.
For employees who work during the night time we have created a one pager with pratical advice to improve health and well-being. See below:
If you're an employee in a leading or independent contract position, you may be exempt from the Working Environment Act's rules on how long you can work each day and each week.
Nevertheless, working hours must be arranged in such a way that you do not suffer detrimental physical or psychological stress, and safety considerations must be taken into account.
Our tech department has a home guard scheme to ensure emergency preparedness on our systems throughout the operating period. Exceptions have been agreed from provisions on unemployment in the Abridged Environment Act, see agreement below:

Working hours on the day before 1 May and 17 May 🇳🇴
You shouldn't work after 22:00 on the day before May 1st and May 17th. If May 1st or May 17th falls on a Sunday or other public holiday, you shouldn't work after 18:00 the day before. If you work in operations, you can work until midnight on the day before May 1st and May 17th.
Employees at the age of 62 or older, and employees with health, social or other compelling welfare reasons, have the right to a reduction of their normal working hours, unless this is a major inconvenience for Oda.
In case of over-staffing, Oda may offer to cancel the employee's shift and in return, the employee will be paid for 2 hours work. The employee can decline and work out the planned shift. This does not apply to employees that have on-call contracts.
You can read more about the punching rules in Quinyx here.
Together with our employee representatives, we've agreed on guidelines for adjusting work schedules during the spring and fall time changes when we turn the clock.
For the day shift, there are no changes. However, for the night shift, you will start one hour earlier in the spring (at 21:00) and one hour later in the fall (at 23:00). This ensures that you consistently work 7.5 hours whenever we turn the clock. People working this shift will have their shift changed in Quinyx and Quinyx will handle the turning of the clock automatically, meaning you will have 7,5 hours punched, even if the time says 1 hour extra.
