Remote work
For employees in Norway
For employees in Norway
We have great central offices, fully equipped with everything we need to be productive. We hope that people want to come to work and meet their colleagues regularly.
As a company, we have not defined the number of days that people have to be in the office. We believe that all teams have different needs and ways of working. The manager for each team is responsible for shaping a suitable way of working together with their teams - and if there is any disagreement, the manager has the right to decide if a team needs regular physical office days. If there is a need for physical attendance, people should be prepared to work from the office at relatively short notice (a day or two) and get to the office at their own expense.
Given that we have a great office space, working from home is a personal choice. Therefore, people are responsible for their own home office setup and equipment. If you for any reason believe that you need home office equipment that should be covered by Oda, start by reaching out to your manager. Discuss your case, and seek a review of the case from the People Partner supporting your area. This is a case-by-case evaluation, where we consider if people for some reason need support for a home office set up to do their job well.
On 1st of July 2022, the Norwegian Government introduced a home office regulation that we must follow. In short, the agreement consists of the following points:
You must inform your leader if your home address changes. Remember that your address in Workday must be correct.
You can work from home up to 5 days per week.
When working from home, you must be available during your working hours.
You must ensure your own home office and the home office equipment.
In order to work from home, you must submit a self-declaration form confirming that you have a justifiable work environment.

In certain scenarios, to provide you with the flexibility to achieve you desired “space for life” balance, you can work from abroad within the EU/EEA. This is only relevant if you are a desk user with the possibility of working remotely, without affecting your ability to perform your designated work at Oda.
The offer is voluntary and certain aspects must be considered before you work remotely from abroad:
Due to tax reasons, you can work abroad for a maximum of 20 days per year.
Voluntary work abroad should always be approved by the line manager.
The remote work abroad must not conflict with your general responsibilities or the rest of your team/Oda.
You are responsible for all costs related to working voluntarily abroad.
You cannot enter into any agreements on behalf of Oda when you are working from another country
Should the work abroad lead to any reporting obligations and/or payment obligations for the employee, the employee must cover the compliance cost himself/herself. This includes any costs incurred for Oda.
Have a look at these guidelines on how to work securely while traveling.
Since you are a member of the Norwegian National Insurance scheme (folketrygden), you are covered by Oda's occupational injury insurance when working abroad, when an injury is related to the work performed. You are, however, encouraged to bring your European Health Insurance Card in case an injury or health issue occur, so that necessary help can be given immediately. You should always consider having private travel insurance.
